Introduction
This shoot took place on 18/03/2020 @ The Manchester College, Fielden Campus, Didsbury.
Research and Inspiration
This Holi festival look was created and carried out by myself and Molly Ogden (make-up student). We chose to do a body art look inspired by the well known festival ‘Holi Festival’ this was something that we hadn’t seen many people do and wanted to play around with lots of colour and paints. We came up and out together a physical mood board prior to the shoot to gain ideas and look at the use of colours. We also wanted to make sure we put an editorial look into it, with the make-up and the body art.

How will the shoot benefit my portfolio
I think this shoot will benefit my portfolio as it was missing some body art work and it is showing my skill set within this area, it also shows that I am able to collaborate and work with other artists to create a piece of work, this look flowed well with the editorial theme that was consistent throughout my portfolio. I also think this might help me stand out from other artists because it shows I can do a body art look as well as normal make-up looks.
How did the shoot turn out on the day and did I overcome any obstacles
We had a professional model planned for this look but due to the current pandemic that is happening right now our model wasn’t able to make it to the shoot due to self isolation (this was before lockdown). We managed to get Mollys’ sister in to model for us and it turned out really well and we was both so pleased with the final outcome, the look really reflected the Holi festival theme but with our twist on it.
Evaluation
I am really happy and proud of this look that we created, me and Molly worked really well together to create this and both our ideas as make-up artists merged well together and we both knew what we wanted the final look to turn out like, the professional images where very good, all the colours where captured amazingly on camera. The full look from the hair to the make-up to the body art all flowed well into each other and it made sense and was recognisable as the Holi festival.
